About the Department

Energy is an essential component of industrial production and societal development of prosperity. It is one of the primary inputs of economic development. Increasing energy demand, limits of fossil fuels such as petroleum and natural gas, environmental problems of industrialized countries and volatility of fossil fuel prices make the subjects of energy resources and their effective use always stay at the top of the agenda. The importance of the efficient use of fossil fuels, nuclear power generation, and renewable resources, such as hydro, solar, wind, and biomass, increases day by day. The shortage and limitations of resources pave the way for unused resources like hydrogen.     

Energy Systems Engineering Department at Erciyes University studies the energy and its use which are now and always very important for the world and our country.

Our department aims to prepare students for a successful engineering career so that they can identify, formulate, model, analyze and solve Energy Systems Engineering problems by applying their mathematics, science and engineering knowledge to the problems.

Our department offers a four-year applied undergraduate education plan in cooperation with national and local education institutions and industrial companies.

Energy Systems Engineering Department is currently in collaboration with Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Material Science Engineering.

 Energy Systems Engineering graduates can contribute to a wide range of industry branches where energy is used such as business centers, hotels, public institutions, industrial companies, malls, power stations, energy production corporations, construction companies, energy transportation systems, etc.
